States of Matter

Image
Hello reader. We are going to discuss about another topic of science in this post. The topic is related to physics and chemistry. The topic is "states of matter". What is a state of matter? A state of matter is a distinct form in which matter can exist. There are 4 states of matter: solids, liquids, gases, and plasma. But let's discuss about solids, liquids, and gases first. In a solid, the particles are tightly packed together. The particles are held together by the forces of attraction. The forces of attraction are so strong that the particles cannot move freely, but they can vibrate.  As a result, a solid has a stable, definite shape, and a definite volume. Solids can only change their shape by force, as when broken or cut. Solids however can change into liquids by being heated, which causes the particles to vibrate strong enough to escape the forces of attraction. This process of changing is called melting. Liquids can also change to solid if the temperature is...

We will begin the blog with a Science-related post. But first, what is Science? Science is a huge system that builds and organises knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions. Science is divided into the natural sciences, which studies the materials and components of the universe, the social sciences, which studies people and society, and the formal sciences, which study logic and mathematics. In this post, we will study about biology, a part of natural science. The topic of biology that we will be discussing now is photosynthesis. What is photosynthesis? Photosynthesis is the process in which plants create food with carbon dioxide and water using energy from the Sun (in the form of sunlight). However, we need to know all the details to understand how photosynthesis truly works. The part of the plant in where photosynthesis occurs is the leaf. So, we need to understand the leaf's structure first. We will only discuss about the parts that are involved in photosy...

What is Studycology

What is this blog?                              This blog, studycology, is a learning blog made by Gabriel Setyawan, Jenson Santoso, Geraldi Abrahamson and Gerald Graham from Teruna Muda school in Indonesia. The blog functions to make learning more accessible and easier to use, using the Internet. Why? Because this is the 21st century, a time when technology has integrated itself into our daily lives. As of August 2017, this blog will discuss one. The subject is Science. The subjects are discussed in the posts following this one. There will be more posts and blog updates in the future. This blog was made for a school project.
